Rivertime Plantations Co.,Ltd.

I am a British national and have been living and working in Laos with my wife and four children for the past 16 years.  During most of this time, I have been Director of English Studies at the National Agriculture and Forestry Research Institute.  My wife and I are also the owners/founders of Rivertime Resort and Ecolodge Co. Ltd. (http://www.rivertimelaos.com/)

My wife and I are offering investors the opportunity to participate in the development of a sustainable, managed agarwood plantation in central Laos.  Agarwood is the world's most expensive wood, with the most sought after varieties coming from Indochina; specifically Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Demand for the wood, and the oil it provides, far outstrips supply, and companies worldwide are actively seeking high quality agarwood from managed plantations in these countries.  Prices on the international market range from $100 to $300 per 6 to 8-year-old tree.  Potential investors are encouraged to go to the Internet where there is a wealth of information about trade in agarwood.

Agarwood trees are classified by CITES (Convention on Trade in Endangered Species) as an endangered species.  CITES and other international conservation agencies strongly promote the development of managed agarwood plantations as a sustainable means of preserving the species for the future, as well as providing reforestation in areas of degraded forest and counteracting carbon emissions.

Our company, ‘Rivertime Plantations Co., Ltd., will be a joint venture between Lao and foreign investors, and investors will be legally registered with and approved by, the Foreign Investment and Management Committee (FIMC) of the Lao government.  Sixty shares, representing 60% of the company's total capital, are available for purchase by private foreign investors. The investment offers an annual rate of return on investment of 30% to 60% during the first 10 years of operation.

If you are seriously interested in participating as an investor in Rivertime Plantations Co. Ltd., please contact me at:  and we will send you our detailed Business Plan.
